Can't disagree with you.  SMU has too much talent from the portal for UNT to match them.  SMU may have written the book on how to use the transfer portal to get results right out of the shut.  They did a good job last season.  I guess the only "fly in the ointment" is having a new head coach.  Personally, I don't think that will matter.

ESPN says the Mean Green have over a 35% chance to defeat SMUt. Not great but good odds. So if they played 100 times, UNT would win 35 of those contests, I guess…better odds than I thought…wish the secondary wasn’t banged up we need all hands on deck.

Brett picked us to win last week and we did so I’m a bit nervous.

My hope is that our stable of running backs beat down their defense and we pull away in the 4th but if they pop the big plays that UTEP muffed, we are going to get walked as usual.

I am more optimistic this week as I was kind of clueless last week. But the boys showed up in front of a packed house in El Paso. I'm leaning towards a single-digit victory in front of a near sellout in Denton (if rain stays away).

 I noticed a few opportunities Aune missed that coild have opened up the scoring for the Mean Green earlier against UTEP so it could end up being as close as Mr. Vito suggestes. UNT seemed to control the tempo more so I thought.

I saw where Keith Oberman on ESPN picked the Mean Green to slip up on SMU last night - I like his thinking but fear Brett I probably right - can only hope their 1st game jitters give us some turnover points which could be a difference maker 🤔
