Caveat: I don't know soccer.

OU got its first win (2 losses and a tie) last night but it seemed they were the better team. More physical, faster. They lost their footing on the wet field several times in the first half that helped us.

We played well and with heart and looked much more comfortable in the second half. Calls evened out in the second half but refs hurt us a bit in the first. Appeared our foot work controlling the ball was better and more creative, but there were times a single Sooner would move the ball up the field without enough resistance to feel compelled to pass (wish I knew how to say that better).

Nice crowd, but the youth teams were the loudest. Well, except for the one guy that was yelling at the refs!

I thought the two teams looked pretty evenly matched, but I too thought that OU looked like it had a little more speed.  With OU's record coming into this match I had to go look and see who they had played.  After looking at that, I then had to check our schedule in hopes that we don't have a match against Arkansas as the Hogs beat OU 6-1 (up 5-0 at one point) in Norman last week.

I got there late & missed the first two quick goals.  That said, I thought even when NT was down 3-1 they didn’t press too hard.

And for those of you who complained for years about Hedlund playing long ball, I didn’t see a whole lot of that until the last 5 min or so when offense was needed for an equalizer.  They built through the middle & out to Klein wide quite a bit.  With a philosophy change will likely come some growing pains early.   Hopefully the ladies will be ready for conference play & bring home another ship!
