I know that many will disagree, and use the road win against Arkansas as the evidence.  Please remember Arkansas was a dog turd that season and had just lost a game to lowly Colorado State.  Others will say UTSA last season, but that game was at home and in monsoon weather conditions which favored UNT greatly.

I really see the win Saturday night as the pinnacle thus far for Littrell in his 8-year head coaching career.

What are you basing this on? I would say the win against Army in 2016 was better than this win... from an underdog/road condition/weather standpoint.

Other wins i would rank higher

2017 UTSA (people forget the hype machine behind this UTSA team)

2017 Army (big win over a very good 8-3 squad)

2018 SMU (I've never seen us dominate a team so completely

2021 UTSA (say what you want, this was a huge win)

I think the win Saturday night was better than expected.  I was cautiously optimistic going into the game.  Overall, we played pretty well.  The atmosphere looked great with an near packed house of 45,000 in the  stands.  Hats off to UTEP and the people of El Paso.  Good job.

Contrary to some, I think UTEP will end up with a good season this year. 

The on-line streaming I suffered through?  That’s another story.  Sad.

To me, the quality of the win over UTEP is kind of TBD. Does that UTEP team end up in the top half of the league? Do they make a bowl? Do they win any games against the top half of the league?

After Week 0, it’s hard to know what kind of team anyone has.

I too experienced some buffering delays.  Seems like that is an ongoing issue with the Stadium feed.  Why can't we just play on ESPN like everyone else?

How can you bring up Arkansas being a dog turd the year we beat them without knowing what UTEP will be this year? If UTEP finishes 3-9, this win will have little value other than a checkmark in the win column.

Under Dimmel UTEP is something like 5 wins and 24  in conference play. This is what you are using as the measure of success? Are your standards/expectations really that low?

I think so too. Their record last year is misleading. The only team they beat with 6+ wins was an ODU team that finished 6-7. Every other win was against teams that finished with 2-4 wins. I don't think this week 0 win will look as impressive in a couple months but I'd gladly be proven wrong.

Littrell has been doing this since he got here, beating sub .500 teams most of the time. Any team that's worth a damn and he folds like a wet napkin most of the time.

Same road for Seth this year too.

The way some talked the week before the game and thru the first half you would think we're chopped liver. We went a step forward with this win and I understand we ain't there yet. But it's a start.

"When you really look at it SMU is breaking in a new coach with tons of new starters. No reason we shouldn't have won with Littrell being here so long. Still waiting for an impressive win!" 🙄

      Vito kicking UNT in the nuts again

      Vito is lost in sports writer hell. He lives by the standard that it is the job of sport writer to be neutral. I imagine he is as tired of covering NT as a lot of NT fans are tired of his coverage. He is lucky in a way that the DRC is still one of the few newspapers that still exist. He has won a lot of awards, not only because he is a competent writer; but there is little computation.

      2025 Projected Depth Chart

      I know this is still subject to change, but with a lot of transfers signed I figure we have enough to get a pretty good idea on what our depth chart will look like next year. This includes all scholarship players and walkons who are in the depth chart. Did my best guess based on Sam Houston’s positions listed on their defensive depth chart (12 spots based on the packages) and where our guys were listed, as well as their guys who we are bringing over. Took some best guesses with guys who weren’t in the two deep/newcomers. Save your comments about how the transfer portal sucks and this could change so much between now, etc. That was always the case this many months out, but we have a pretty good idea based on the guys who actually play or we are bringing in. The bottom of the depth chart guys leaving is expected but doesn’t really change things.       So similar to Jimerson's recruitment in that nobody really wanted to give either a scholarship at QB. Thanks for the insight. Colorado just signed ESPN's #2 overall prospect in Julian Lewis at QB. If Lewis works out, how does it benefit either party for Jimerson to go sit on the bench behind a top QB prospect? They also signed one of Jimerson's teammates so clearly they aren't high on Jimerson as it is.
