Heard from a reliable source that Delong is leaving to coach Texas Tech. Announcement next week. Sucks to lose a really good coach.

But I will say if he does leave Wren has done a master full job in his hiring and I fully expect him to find someone to keep the momentum going and then some

You had to know plenty of schools were watching him.  He has done a great job.  Whether he stays or goes, I agree with @bstnsportsfan3--he has been a home run hire.

I thought it was odd that he was not part of the Coach’s Caravan after the season we had. Sadly, I think I now know why.

I guess he can build that ULL like program in Lubbock.

Very bad news, but he is leaving the program a lot better than he found it. 

If he starts taking players with him, than it could decimate the program.

Could it be possible that he was a finalist and chose UNT over Tech?  That's what I'm thinking happened.  No offense but  Lubbock is not the best place in the world to reside.  Especially compared to Denton and DFW.

AAC Softball is going to be fun.

They sent 3 teams to the NCAA tournament this year. Ranked 18, 38 and 39 in RPI.

When I saw he was bald I was kind of skeptical that we would hire him.  Coach DeLong has a full head of hair and the players like that more in recruiting.

Wow, TX Tech hired a coach with zero head coaching experience.  Hope we hold on to Rodney for a DeLong time.

No doubt.  
Plus, Coach DeLong is currently making about the same amount as what Tech's former coach was making when she was fired last month (not sure what this new guy signed for).
