Firtitta is worth $5.5B.  GBR is more than doing his part and I’m super grateful for him.  We need to support financially how we all can to continue to take some pressure off the AD having to continue to knock on the same doors.

A big part in finding more fans and more support is the excitement around a program and it's sports.  The AAC announcement and success in men's basketball, softball, et al will help that.

Football, however, costs the most and draws the most attendance and media but is not pulling it's weight with excitement the past few years.  That needs to change or Wren needs to make a change within it.

It’s that fundamental truth that is in my mind when people make “excuses” for this program and defend mediocre (or below) coaches with no conference championships or bowl wins.   There are no college football program in country with below 0.500 record all time against FBS competition, FCS/I-AA Titles, no major bowl wins or major bowl appearances getting good TV ratings.  We have yet to even appear in a bowl game with 20 year history at the time we played in it.  (At least the New Orleans Bowl is now over 20 years old else our bowl appearances would look totally irrelevant).  So while I realize people here love our school and football, but we should stop giving leadership a benefit 5 years into any tenure.  We could be loving this program to death all while whistling past the graveyard.  So until hit 8 wins+ in back to back seasons and at least win one conference title or bowl win in that 2 year span everyone needs to stop complaining about “outside forces” holding this program back.  This program needs to get the point where we can legitimately point to outside forces for struggling at the G5 level.  There is no external reason why we could not be on par with the Houston Cougars, San Diego State or others schools that are not their state’s flagship University System’s main campus  but located in a major metro area today.  Stay over at or over 60% for winning for 4 years then it is totally fair and logical to complain about apathetic alumni and outside forces.
