Makes me sleep well at night knowing $40 billion of our tax dollars are supporting a war instead of helping actual Americans.

All democrats voted for it (except for those that chose to abstain). Those sweet Lockheed/Northrup Grumman/Raytheon kickbacks are just too enticing, even for the commies.

That's wild how there's literally no military budget big enough for Republicans but as soon as genocide is happening with an ally we're suddenly broke.

Typical socialist/liberal - Spending money on the military to better prepare protect ourselves is bad, but giving money to others is OK.

You are really obsessed with the GOP and Trump.

I made no mention of Trump in that post, simply pointing out an inconsistency.

Typical wet fart of a reply because your brain only deals in generalities and 1970's cold war tropes.

Most people that I meet find me to be chill and quite hospitable, thanks.

Maybe I’m in the minority here but I think the subject of UFOs is a reasonable topic when discussing national security. UFOs don’t have to be extraterrestrial to be UFOs.

As yes the the wonderful "but the other side does it" argument.

Republicans, Democrats, doesn't matter, they're all getting kickbacks from the military industrial complex and this is another example.

Every war is "justified" as long as the State is getting paid. And you wanna talk genocide? Lets talk about the actual genocide in Yemen that's been going on for the better part of the last 20 years. Something both parties have agreed to fund (through Saudi Arabia mainly, another Ally).

Here's an idea. Let's cut the military budget, and stop spending money on wars that we shouldn't be a part of in the first place.

They're probably trying to tell us to leave.

Well not entirely. It was just interesting how you made it a Democratic thing as if both parties aren't guilty of never meeting a war they didn't love. But to be honest $40bil ain't really a ton of money in the grand scheme of things. We're spending literally 20x's that every year on our own military and we haven't really needed to defend ourselves in the last 70 years. The needless Iraq War was in the trillions, so I don't really find that amount of money to be very offensive considering the threat that Ukrainians are facing. Sending money and politicians to Ukraine sends a message to Russia that the bullying only goes so far. We're signed on to NATO for good reasons, even if they don't involve the old cold war politics of yesteryear.

I'm in absolute agreement here but I don't think that negates the U.S's position that we need to take with Ukraine.

Of course. At heart I'm very much a pacifist but I think what we're doing against Russia in this whole campaign is working and will continue to work.

Not lashing out at you @El Paso Eaglebut spouting off generally.

What has Jim Jordan done in his career that gives anybody  an indication he’d have a way to immediately address any of these issues other than trying to ramp up border wall construction again?

The baby formula thing is good and bad because it got contaminated products off the shelves but also decreased supply. Other mfrs are trying fill the gap as well as breastmilk banks while the company with contamination issues tries to fix their issues and ramp back up. I don’t see how you can pin that particular issue on Congress or the president.

You can’t fix inflation in a day, we are headed for years of heartache fixing this one (Paul Volcker would tell you) and you can blame some of every party for this one.

The price of gas is what it is. It would be nice if it were lower but that isn’t sustainable long term. This is the same reason you won’t find 2 tacos for $0.99 at JITB or a $5 footlong at Subway and that $50k top of the line truck from is now $70k+. Input costs are rising whether they be materials, logistics, or human.

The planet. I was always a big skeptic until I saw the Marfa lights, but there's some Interstellar shit going on out there.

It is a shame that our technology isn’t advanced enough to get us to a habitable planet within the human lifespan. I find it mathematically impossible to believe that there isn’t extraterrestrial life.

I didn't take physics in high school & then did 2 geology classes in college, but I remember my 9th grade science teacher making the argument that there wasn't any ET life that could come in contact with us because mathematically they were too far. But yeah, certainly something or someone is out there.

I dunno man, is it misogynistic to assume the wrong sex? Or is it misogynistic to assume a lady would block or ignore people?
