Was a 3 star - .8851 rated QB in the 2019 class with offers from AZ, AZ St., Ohio St., TAMU, Alabama, Arkansas, Baylor, CA, Central Arkansas, FL. St., Georgia, Hawaii, Houston, IN, Iowa, KU, Louisville, LSU, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi St., Missouri, NE, UNC, Northwestern, OK St., Ole Miss, Oregon, Pitt, Purdue, smu, TCU, TN, TSU-SM, TX Tech, Tulane, UCF, UCLA, Vanderbilt and Wisconsin. 

He signed with Arizona, entered the portal in December 2020 and signed with Memphis before entering the portal again and committing to us.  I hope he has found a home and recaptures the magic that made him such a sought after recruit in high school.

In my opinion, this is a game changer for Littrell.  With the easy schedule, he may well win 8-9 games with a solid QB like Gunnels.  Big win for Littrell.  May well get him an extension.

We heard the same hype about Ruder. We'll see.  I hope he's everything as advertised. I still think Aune is the starter day 1.

Kid appears to have talent, and he should help us.  My question is what QB other than Fine has gotten better since arriving here under Littrell?   Seems like since Grant Harrell left we have sucked in the developing of QB's.

My recollection is Ruder was never the starter at UNC but Gunnell was the starter for Arizona for the entire 2020 season.

Ruder threw 7 passes in 3 seasons at UNC while Gunnell threw 248 in 1 and a half at Zona.

Huge addition!  Love that he is big and has a big arm.  This could change everything as QB has been our issue.
 

This has to mean someone is the odd man out.  We all know Aune is not going anywhere.  I’m guessing JD Head or Ruder may be packing up their bags.

Saw him play against Bishop Dunne his senior season on TV. Didn’t play up to the hype during that game.

From my Memphis alum friend (donor/perennial season ticket holder):

They didn’t want him to leave, but we had a freshman that ended up playing last year when Gunnell was hurt.  Gunnel is big time.

Dude has gotten some actual playing time. Have to wait and see, but that's a big difference from our previous transfers.

I'm all for more competition at this position. We know what we've had since Fine left hasn't been good enough.
