It says if things fall in line we should be in the AAC in July 2023.

Also, La Tech will be playing the likes of Sam Houston, Jacksonville State and probably Eastern Kentucky and Tarleton State. Good luck with that. Better start schmoozing the Fun Belt.

Ha!! Good luck getting ULM or ULL to support La Tech going anywhere near the SBC. They shot off their own feet with their attitude against their in-state brethren.

It's not just ULM and ULL! AState, USA and Troy are all still mad at the way La Tech has acted toward the SBC for the last 20 years. Returning member NMSU will remember La Tech worked to keep them out of the WAC in addition to trying to keep the SBC from adding football. La Tech worked well beyond what could reasonably be called "being competitive" against all of those schools for 20+ years through multiple ADs and Presidents. You can bet all six schools will be talking long and loud against any addition of La Tech.

La Tech worked for over 20 years to put themselves in a place where most other universities are not going to trust them. Let them rot!

Yep.  LA Tech made their own bed.

La Tech's most egregious move, in my opinion, was to avoid playing in the Independence Bowl because the invited ULL to play in it and wanted them to play LT. LT rejected it as it was seen to be beneath them--very SMU of them.

Unlike SMU, though, LT has no money. They lorded their conference standing and history over the SBC regional teams--which worked rather well right up to the time that the CUSA they joined was run by an absolute moron that can't be fired because she's the first female commissioner!! And then the SBC became much stronger than CUSA because of much stronger leadership and vision. Now, they are stuck in CUSA with Judy in the worst conference setup in the G5 for years to come.

I think it was ULM that was invited to the Liberty Bowl which they hate even more than ULL.

I know it might give them a nasty taste in their mouth but financially it is the best move for all 3 schools.
