After an extremely successful tenure as Villanova’s head coach, Wildcats basketball leader Jay Wright is expected to step down, per CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein. Wright just finished his 21st season at Villanova, leading the team to the Final Four. He finished his tenure at the school 520-197, winning two national championships in three years (2016 and ‘18). He was 642-282 overall as a head coach with Villanova and Hofstra in a career spanning 1994-2022.

Wright later released a statement, confirming his decision to step down as head coach.
