This program's outreach to attract new fans has been on auto-pilot for 40 years = self-serve. The addition of the new stadium helped draw some new fans. The school's growing size and growing location is what keeps moving us up the conference food chain.
If we ever had actual marketing to new fans and real attempts to inspire existing students I believe we would see the attendance needle move. I don't expect any change with the current AD.
Having seen Hayden Fry make a difference with Denton and the program's culture, it takes a special person and staff. It greatly helps to have a pro-Athletics school President too. Not sure if the new guy is or not? I believe he was drum major for the band at Notre Dame, so he must know what a football field is.
I think coaches might be genuinely concerned that he is out of eligibility. His only season at a JUCO was the 2020-2021 school year that already didnβt count towards his eligibility.
He spent 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024 on FBS rosters. 5 years that were not the Covid eligibility season. I donβt think this extra season of eligibility due to playing at a JUCO applies to Chandler, and coaches probably are coming to that conclusion before offering him.
