To say I’m underwhelmed by this season’s home schedule would be an understatement. However, home games against Texas Tech (2027), Baylor (2029), Missouri (2030) and Colorado (2033) are exciting to me. Of course, a lot can happen between now and then to cancel those games.

I’m excited, to a lesser extent, to welcome Cal (2023), Memphis (2023), UNLV (2026), Wyoming (2027) and Army (2028) to Apogee.  Texas Southern, Abilene Christian, Stephen F. Austin, Houston Baptist and Texas State don’t interest me at all.

I'm interested to see who will replace SMU in our nonconference schedule. I wonder if we would bother continuing a rivalry with LA Tech year in and year out, or if Wren's plans are bigger.

La Tech would be a good series to continue.  They bring fans and it's an easy road trip.   I would also like to lure TCU onto the schedule.  Any home/home with a P5 is welcomed.

I respect the hell out of La Tech athletics for all the winning they do considering their little resources and leadership (which at times baffle me)…they are always so competitive.  I’m not sure I’d want to continue a regular rivalry with them because they’re always a threat to beat us and will be in a perceived lesser conference.  That’s says more about they’re ability to win than ours.  The payoff just wouldn’t be there.  I don’t know that we need a “regular” non con opponent now that we’ve bedded our ponies.

Texas State is your answer. Get more in-state games in OOC and that helps with attendance and with recruiting. Between games with Rice. UTSA. and SMU, you are already working in the right direction. Add in a long series with Texas State and you are guaranteed two road games a year in Texas, as well as other driveable games at Tulsa and Tulane. That’s great for North Texas…

Agree with your premise but that is more a reflection of the incompetence of our current football leadership more than anything else.

As of now, Memphis stays in AAC - East, so they become a conference opponent as frequent as what we experienced with C-USA eastern division opponents.  If expected alignment holds, we get Tulsa, Tulane, and Navy at home on alternate years.

God I hope not. I cannot stand having their obnoxious a** fans overrun Apogee. And they are beneath the competition level that Wren and friends want to come to Denton anyway.
