Most fbs schools have little to no scholarships left for this class. They finished up in December or February. The strategy to hold on to ‘ships seems to have worked for us with this quality player.

I'd love to put on my green tinted glasses and believe that's the case here but this player didn't just pop up out of nowhere.  He's been at a juco for 2 (possibly 3) seasons and received one FBS offer from UNT.  Those are just the facts. 

That being said he was 2nd team all-division player, and our staff felt good enough about him to offer.  He could absolutely be a diamond in the rough that we happened to stumble on.

Agree that is typically the case but if you look at UTSA La Tech and UAB all kept some back this time around.  Glad we did it but we are certainly not breaking any new ground here.

Due to Covid and the ability to freely transfer, this has become a recruiting season like none other and I think we have approached it in the right manner.  A lot of players were overlooked or were left without a slot due to the transfer portal.  I like this commitment and look forward to this class being finalized.
