we are/were right there with all these teams just about. Dayton dropped even further behind us. So close. Not sure I have lost all hope…. We should be right there with Wyoming and SMU I figure.

Agreed. I believe UNT should be in the conversation if all of these teams are… it’s pretty ridiculous.

Yeah teams of 77 and 53 NET rankings beat out UNT who was at a 47…. So what’s the point in playing a tough schedule or doing anything…. It’s a giant joke now just like the football playoff series.

That doesn’t explain a 77 ranked Rutgers gets in over us or a dozen other teams….

Also what an awful draw for UAB. At least that’s what I’m thinking. Houston is beatable but giving them a 5 seed seems too low.

I don't understand this either. Makes no sense. At this point, it leaves a lot of pretty good teams playing in the NIT. That is good for us.

That's why I think it should just be based on NET for the at-large. As much as they say it isn't a popularity contest. We know it is.

Those rankings have always just been one guide among many.  Similar to the RPI...that was never the only thing they looked at.

They at least have a 34 NET, 18-13 Rutgers with a 77 NET should never have even been a bubble team.

You can't look at just the win/loss record.  Michigan has a really good NET, I figured they'd get in.

UH is #3 in NET for that 5 seed.  Shows you how much they value the NET unless they can use it as a basis for selecting the big conference school to get in
