Yep and we got the “over rated!” Chant going too. You have to be “rated” in the first place to be labeled as “over rated”

We did that for K-State football too....and never got thanked! 

Least they could have done was take SL off our hands!

So we talk about how "special" this team and how we should be getting more respect - then someone celebrates beating the team with the best road records in the NCAA's and we make fun if them? Guess in the end, deep down, a lot of people don't really think were that special of a BB school.

 

P.S. the UTEP BB players called the fans down to come celebrate with them, they did not rush the floor. Guess they (UTEP players) have more respect for our team than some here

I was thinking the same thing.   It’s almost like Stockholm syndrome.  
Between football kicking us in the nuts 3 years in a row, & our not-so-distant past Benfording in B-ball, maybe some folks don’t truly believe in what these guys are doing or just don’t think we’re worth it.     
So the fact UTEP would celebrate in this way over a really really good NT squad is comical to them.

Basketball wise it actually will not be a horrible conference. along with some good programs (such as UNT and UAB) they get rid of some dead weight such as Marshall, USM and UTSA and replace them with the 2 best teams from the A-sun and 2 top tier teams from the WAC. if tech, MTSU, WKU or UTEP can win the tournament, its fairly easy to imagine 3 members of future C-USA playing in the big dance.

That said, nothing changes about the fact that almost nobody will get to see conference play in the present or future.
