Dublin is a fun city. I miss the Guinness and pubs. We might plan a trip for this fall or next spring. About 4 years ago I was walking the streets of Dublin, and I bumped into a guy wearing a North Texas hoodie. We made small talk about the team and Denton. Have fun in Dublin Green Brigade!

When I visited Dublin for a few days I didn't really care for it.  It was like a much smaller version of other major European cities and filled with lots of tourist junk.  However, I loved driving through the rest of Ireland, driving by endless fields of grass and sheep.  Irish stew in a small town is amazing, unlike what you can get in Dublin.  Amazingly enough, one of the best Italian dinners I've ever had was in Cork.

By they way, I lost a Mean Green hat somewhere in Dublin.  If one of the Green Brigade finds it, I'll offer a $2 reward. :)

This is very cool.  I've been to Dublin multiple times and it's one of my favorite cities, but it has changed over the last 20-30 years.

Maybe I haven't been paying attention, but this stuck out to me - "UNT Director of Athletic Bands."  Does this mean that it's under the AD umbrella or is it under the Music umbrella and "athletic bands" is just one of the organizational departments?  Are the students required to pay their own way or is University or donors chipping in?  Great exposure for the school.  Have a great time.

Yeah we were supposed to do a side trip through the Ireland country side, but there was an issue with the tour operator, and it was canceled. The Jameson distillery tour and Dublin pub tour we went on were awesome. My sister in law studied at Cork for a year. I hear that is a great food town.

Yes, the students are paying their own way...about 3,000 each.

The footage of the Band practicing at Apogee shows an "ensemble" that's about half the size (or maybe even less) of the one that shows up to fall football games. Of course, taking a 430-member Band to Ireland would be a logistical nightmare.
