SAN ANTONIO — The North Texas men's basketball team won a program-record 15th straight game Thursday with a 59-48 victory over UTSA at the Convocation Center.

The Mean Green (23-4, 16-1 C-USA) have now won the second-most Conference USA league games in a single season with 16 and extend their already program record for single-season league wins.

Thursday UNT was led by Preseason All-Conference forward Thomas Bell who finished with a team-high 16 points and grabbed seven rebounds in the victory.

UNT, which owns the nation's top scoring defense, has now won 21 of its last 22 games and has held seven opponents under 50 points this year.

The 15 straight C-USA wins is the longest among active league members and the sixth longest in the league's 27-year history.

UNT finishes the regular season on Saturday with a road game at UTEP. Saturday's game is scheduled to tip-off at 2 p.m. CT and will be broadcast on ESPN+ and the Mean Green Sports Network.

North Texas begins the 2022 Conference USA Men's Basketball Championship at the Star in Frisco on Thursday. Fans can purchase their tickets here.
