Grant's first year as a HC, he went 30-3 at DII Midwestern State, making it all the way to the E8 of their tourney.

He coached there for two years before heading to ASU, going 55-12 overall and making it to the E8 both years.

My daughter-in-law's dad is a Baylor grad and a big BB fan (he comes from the Northeast). One of the last times that I talked with him he mentioned that when Coach M. was an assistant at Baylor, the coaching staff's nickname for him was "the Rat"......as in Gym Rat.....because he was always at the gym putting in some work.

Did I imagine it, or was there a story somewhere on McCasland and the late 60's green fan he had restored and drives to campus?
