Because I'm a nerd and like to do things like this in my spare time, I thought about what I'd like our nonconference schedules to look like the next two years (last year in C-USA, first in AAC).

I tried to stay realistic, but dreamed that bigger schools may be willing to play us (including in Denton) as we jump conferences and continue building our reputation as a program. The other biggest motive was road games that would encourage short road trips and home games that would attract a decent visting crowd to amp up the energy at the Pit. Finally, I thought if you started the season out with men's/women's doubleheaders -- meaning one ticket gets you entry to both games -- against winnable DI schools that are close to here and have plenty of local alumni, you could really set the tone for the season off the court. More energy to woo back the fairweather fans and students, and more people coming out to support the ladies.

No more home openers vs. NAIA/DII schools in front of 300 people...
