DRC: UNT women run winning streak to five with dominating win over FAU

Huge difference tonight.  They played confident from the beginning.  Lots of movement on offense.  FAU is bad, but tonight we played better than we have in a while.  Saturday will be big vs UAB.

Good. Jalie needs those wins to justify her position. People want to believe in her, but it takes results. FAU may not be much, but overall this kind of streak sure is helpful in that regard. Was looking pretty bleak there for a moment when the ladies were 2-6. She is now finally above .500 in conference. Next game is UAB at home, which is a good test.

I believe her record is better than the UNT Hall of Fame coach that was here for 20 years.

You can decide not to name her but we all know who you are speaking to.  I’m sorry but please don’t compare Jalie accomplishments to what Tina Slinker accomplished in her storied tenure here.

I tried but don’t see a difference. What storied tenure? I’m not a Mitchell fan but again, what’s different? The only question is not if Julie goes into the UNT Hall of Fame, it’s just when? Julie had a winning program after 2 years and Slinker 9 years.

She is already in the hall of fame.  So that's not a question.

We've historically had a fairly low bar for women's basketball.  Maybe someday we'll decide to raise it.
