I wonder if these are the geniuses that thought it was in Torry's best interest to skip the bowl game.

It was absolutely in his best interest to skip the bowl game. He was hurt almost all year.  The extra rest will help him on tryouts and NFL camps. I don't blame him at all for the chance to get to an NFL team. It is a chance, both career wise and monetarily, of a lifetime.

I still maintain his absence in the Bowl cost NT the game.....IMO

He carried us on one leg the entire season. If we lost the game because one player decided to make a decision in their best interest, then we deserved to lose the game.

Yes, there is a fairly remote chance that he may have been injured.   There was a better chance that he may have had a good to great game and earned a few more dollars in that pro contract.

No doubt it was his decision to make.    The extra rest from skipping one game, not even a factor unless he stopped working out at all after the regular season game, which does not seem to be good strategy.

No one is going to question Torrey's work effort or dedication.

I just believe that players' agents drive these decisions, and based not only on the chance of injury, but also the chance their client may have a bad game before contract negotiation is a big factor.
