Event Timing

I have received an email invitation to an Alumni event in Frisco at the Star. It is on the 24th which is the same evening we play at home against Southern Miss. I wonder if there will be TV's there with the game on, at least in the background. I really do not understand the timing.

Reply to the invite and ask them.  I think it is a fair question and one that should be asked.  I would be comfortable in assuming that this doesn't occur at other universities.  Just poor planning.

That’s a damn shame and they better have the game on and shouldn’t have done this in the first place if you ask me.

Everyone should decline the invite and tell them they will be at the Super Pit instead.

Exactly.  There are two home games left.  Go to each.  Attend the alumni events after BB season.  I see that President Smatresk is scheduled to attend.  Too bad.

Let’s cut a little slack here. That organization was responsible for putting on literally one of the best UNT Alumni events ever in conjunction with the Frisco Bowl less than two months ago. They have like 4 people on staff total who kill themselves to outreach and create engagement opportunities for our massive alumni base. 

I’m not a fan of this timing either & will be attending the basketball game that night - but scheduling events in the Fall and Spring are nightmares. You’re always stepping on some other departments events/activities.

But it's the North Texas alumni Association.  A glance at a pocket schedule card would have prevented this SNAFU.

Let's place a wager as to whether there is or is not a TV with the North Texas HOME game playing.

Did anyone actually call them to inquire if other options were explored?

I have learned that our AA is severely understaffed and are doing the best they can and were trying to also accommodate Dr. Smatrek’s calendar. But, we also know that this time of year our basketball teams play on Thursday and Saturday. I wonder why they don’t have the function at the SP prior to the game?  Then again, they probably wouldn’t make the trip.
