12 seed against Texas in Milwaukee.

This averages out seeding from other sites, majority is 12 seed.

No matter the projections, the game won’t be close to Denton and if we make it to the Sweet 16, it’ll be even farther.

If only there was some kind of technology…an engineering marvel, if you will, that provided efficient travel over relatively long distances. Maybe something that traveled above land at high speed, like birds. Maybe such a thing will be invented before the 2023 NCAA tournament.

What happened to the Fort Worth first/second round games?

Is it fact that we can't play in an arena we've already played in this season?

I would like to know this as well. Someone on here said that, but they weren't sure that was a rule.

Good lord, imagine having ut, Houston and UNT all playing opening round games in portland?

I honestly have zero insight into geography/proximity for this tournament.  Does the committee take that into consideration? Is it a priority for them to try and appease a school's fanbase? @CMJ?

The best seeded teams get favorable geographic draws as a reward for a great season. Also, the NCAA tends to bring the lowest seeded teams (14-16) to venues that aren’t far away, if possible. But your 4-13 seeds rarely get a venue to maximize fans of their schools, with the exception of a few times someone with a seed in the range I mentioned has gotten a favorable draw. For example, Texas got Dallas one year even though they were a 6 seed.

Note that bracket has final record projections (minutes conference tournaments) and gives us 2 more losses. They also have UAB as an at-large 12 seed with 2 more losses.

I like the bracket but I think it's wishful thinking.

Yeah. UAB already ruined any chance at an at-large bid

Usually they try to give seeds 1-4 venues close to them, but the higher a seed you are the more priority you have.  So, a 4 might get something close but it's not as likely as if you're a 1-3.

Certainly feels like it. Going to need a lot of schools to go on losing streaks. The problem at this point of the season is the Power Conferences are littered with schools with high NET rankings so they're playing Quad 1 games almost weekly if not multiple times per week. They have weekly opportunities to make-up for bad losses early in the season where as we basically need to run the table because we only have a single Quad 1 game left.
