NEW ORLEANS - The UNT women's golf team began its spring season on Sunday at the Tulane Classic Presented by Chad Brownstein and sit atop the leaderboard heading into Monday's second round thanks to standout days from junior Emilie Ricaud and sophomore Ellie Roth.

The pair shot two-over 74s at English Turn Golf & Country Club in some less than favorable weather conditions that featured blustery winds and wind chills in the 30s for the majority of the day.

That is awesome.  Akers has done a fantastic job with the women's program and just signed three really good golfers, two from Texas high schools and one from Australia.  One of the high school girls won the 5A state title last year.

Look at that leaderboard!

Rough go early today.  The team is +7 on their front nine and the lead is down to 14.  Tan, our #1 player had a stretch of double bogey, bogey, bogey, bogey, before settling down with a birdie.  I expect them to settle down and close this out on the back nine.

the girls won....but it wasn't pretty....and they ended up tied for the individual title with Patricia Sinolungan going +4 over the last 3 holes

tan was 3rd, roth was 4th.

great showing, but a bad final round.

won by 8 strokes, but +23 for the day
