The merging of The Maniacs and the AD starting to take form

I gotta tell you, the Mean Green Maniacs student organization is starting to become something pretty special folks.  I sawr it first hand tonight.  Their spirits were lifting us all and it looks like the AD has finally realized that embracing this organization was a super smart move!

Sadly, in the past our AD was always wary of any outside and independent organizations as they felt threatened.  This no longer appears to be the case and it will be fun to watch this newfound partnership flourish and grow.

The amount of students in attendance last night compared to just the last homestand has increased noticeably. Not sure what class the current officers are, but hopefully they recruit some underclassmen and women to keep the tradition going.

Next step is to make it a year-round thing. Have a loud student section during nonconference and winter break play.

The Maniacs are very similar to the supporters sections in soccer. Stand the whole game, chant, heckle, dance, fat heads, smoke machines, yell leaders band integration. Oh man keep it going MGM.

I would say it's similar to a student body section at one of the big basketball schools.  The Cameron Crazies, The Show, or the Phog, etc..

 

Just not nearly as big yet.

For those who complain about the name Maniacs, why not change it to the Meaniacs?  Problem solved.
