The article missed the 4th (and possibly greatest) need position…quarterback

Very skeptical that without a true QB coach it will really make a difference. Really hope I am wrong.

Kinda wonder if there's some weird anti-QB mojo in our rooms.  I like to think we've had some talent in there, but it isn't translating to the field.

Several of our recent QBs have never seen the field.  Thus, they transfer out.

Yes we were hoping our friends son Jacob Zeno would consider us as he was a star QB coming out of high school.  He portaled out of Baylor and chose UAB.  To our understanding UNT was never involved in his recruiting which is a shame.

I mean, seriously, why would he? UAB is superior as a program, Bill Clark runs laps around SL as a coach (and many others, BTW), and he knows that UAB’s OL will play physically tough all the way thru the whistle.

This transfer is in class now at UNT & has 3 years of eligibility.  His passes are very accurate.

Lest anyone think that a QB transfer from a smaller program is a questionable move.  I remember leaving the 1977 NT/NMSU game (via the track on the south side of Fouts) and then glancing over at the final minutes of the game. NT was kicking the crap out of NMSU (final was 45-17) and Hayden Fry decided to put in a sub QB to give him some game time experience (gee, imagine doing something like that? 😲).  Anyway, as I watched the QB (who I had not seen all year) run around doing his best Fran Tarkington imitation and playing as if the outcome of the game was on his shoulders, I wondered out loud "who the hell is this guy?".  Well, it was our latest transfer. This time from Sul Ross University..........Jordan Case.

But UAB's Tyler Johnston, their starting QB from last year, transferred out.  Something must be amiss in Birmingham.
