Back to the real world... How many of those guys really moved up? 4? 5? And how many did it themselves? Murphy twins put on the work, not Mumbles or even Bennett.

Very VERY flimsy argument to stand on

By this argument, Saban sucks. He didn’t coach up any of his players or lead them to titles, his players all did it themselves.

Yeah now they have 4 twitter accounts auto blasting every entry, offer, commitment dedicated to the portal. It will be interesting to see how it changes and what rules are added after the recruiting cycle closes.

Will also be interesting when a little more information is know on how successful kids are with the ease of entering. It makes it a lot easier to make the jump. How many of these kids end up without a place and never finish school? How many of these kids move on and still see little playing time? Sometimes you have to learn the hard way that the easiest , or quickest way is not the best in the long run.

We are going down an overly-complicated path.

If Murph bros put in the work, do Mumbles/Bennett get any credit for guiding them? For putting them in the right environment?
if Murph bros could get it done under Mumbles/Bennett, do we start looking at the other players for not putting in the work?

Ultimately, the responsibilities trickle up to the coaches.  That means I am going to look at SL & Co when players are doing well, and look at them when players aren't doing well.

Well, the only place to go upwards from there is the NFL. or Georgia.

We did get a nice saban coached qb a few years ago. Remind me how he did and by your argument saban is a bad coach.

My argument?  It was an analogy.

We need to offer every RT (Brammer), DE (Twins), and S/LB (Tyrese Davis) in the portal that would be a fit here.

I agree with you.  But it does not seem to be the case.  In fact most of our assistants are doing high school roadshows that amount to nothing.

If transfers do not sign an NLI then their 'signing' is probably nothing more than a ceremonial document contrived by the schools to give a sense of commitment to the player and surely does not count against the class if they don't enroll.  Similar to how PWOs 'sign' on national signing day.

If there is nothing that binds schools to making good on their offer to 'sign' a portal transfer then it won't take long for top programs to start abusing the portal through over signing and kids showing up in the Fall only to find out they don't have a spot.
