I really hope so because I would like to see some of the young guys get a chance on the court.  Especially the young post Morgan whose father player here.

Pretty sure he is redshirting.

Can't over look anyone in conference on the road. Looking ahead to La Tech Saturday will get you beat Thursday.

Anybody know why La Tech is playing at home two Saturdays in a row?

We are one at home and one on the road it seems!

I believe every team gets a stretch of two saturdays in a row at home. We had ours in January

CUSA scheduling, along with Covid changing games, has been wired this year.

With pod play gone and divisions now a thing,  we don’t play 1 of the teams from the East so it makes it where we play another team without playing their travel partner.

Example is we play at FAU then at UAB. We don’t play FIU and we already played MTSU who is the UAB travel partner.

It looks more like the AAC with now they do conference schedules, but Covid definitely has an impact on how it was set up, along with pod play being gone.
I personally liked Pod play, and it should’ve been implemented this year due to the conference trying to get 2 bids, because it pitted us against the top of the conference but oh well.

In conclusion, Covid and Pod play

Yeah this too with the fact we have a travel partner in Rice. 2019-20 we played Rice on a Monday at home before a 2 game home series and played Rice on the first Saturday of February due to not playing back to back like most do.

Example is UTSA and UTEP played on Thursday in San Antonio and Sunday in El Paso.

For some reason we don’t do that

Mini scouting report on USM.

Their top three leading scorers are:

Tyler Stevenson: 6'8" F.  Averages 14.1 points per game.  I would guess T. Bell will draw this defensive assignment.  He dropped 17 and 21 on LA Tech in back to back games.  He has only attempted three 3 pointers all year, so I would assume this are mainly in the paint.  He shoots 51.5% from the field, 64.5% from the line while collecting 8.4 rebounds per game.

Tae Hardy: 6'3" G.  Averaged 13.7 pts. per game, but hasn't played since November.  Not sure if this is injury or grades.

Isaih Moore: 6'10" F.  Averages 12.1 pts. per game but hasn't played in their last four games.  Not sure why.

DeAndre Pinckney: 6'8" F  Their second leading scorer  since conference play began at 11.8 pts. per game.

In conference play, USM has won only once, against utsa by 1, and have lost to UTEP by 33, to LA Tech twice in back to back games.  They lost the first match by 23 at LA Tech and the home game by 14.  MTSU beat them by 6 at MTSU.  Games against Marshall and WKU were postponed.

They are 6-12 overall having beaten Delta St. (exhibition), William Cary, Lamar, UNC Wilmington, UC San Diego, utsa and Southeastern Baptist.  All road games are tough, but we should win this game easily and hopefully have a chance to rest our starters heading in to Saturday's game in Ruston.

Stevenson is a physical forward that will make Bell work. Hopefully this doesn’t mean Foul trouble for Bell and Scott because I have a small feeling that could be a case. I doubt it, but if it’s not fouls, they need to be ready to rebound. Stevenson has 3 double digit rebound games.

Luckily Bell and Abou have been equally or even better than that recently.

Overall, USM is just bad. Defensively one of the worst in CUSA, and if we can play like we have the last few games to start on offense with Drez hitting shots early etc, this should be a game where NT dominates.

Lost for the year to a shoulder injury earlier this season.
Remember how we all felt when Perry went down?   Lucky for us, Perry is OK.   Hardy was that guy for USM.   HUGE loss.
