Mike Norvell, Florida State Seminoles

Florida and Miami both pulled the trigger on coaching changes following forgettable 2021 seasons, and the other one of the Big Three might not wait much longer.

The Florida State Seminoles have been stumbling through a bit of a wilderness since Jimbo Fisher left for Texas A&M. Mike Norvell might not have much longer to prove that he's their long-term answer.

After some wildly successful seasons at Memphis, Norvell is only 8-13 in his two years in Tallahassee. The Seminoles failed to make a bowl game in 2021 after a loss to hated rival Florida in the regular-season finale kept them out of the postseason.

Norvell has the nation's 13th-ranked recruiting class coming in, and he's had success in the transfer portal as well. However, FSU took a major PR hit on early signing day when No. 1 overall recruit Travis Hunter flipped to Jackson State. Long-time Seminoles lean Kevin Coleman recently chose Jackson State, too.

Who is stealing these recruits? None other than former Seminoles legend Deion Sanders, who is recruiting this way at an FCS program. That also adds pressure on Norvell.

If Norvell doesn't lead Florida State to a bowl in 2022, the Seminoles might start looking at "Coach Prime" or other candidates to replace him.

Notice that SL isn't mentioned on this list? I think most people can see that if he wasn't getting fired after the 6-7 record he just posted, especially following two straight 4 win campaigns, that he is probably not getting fired after this upcoming season's easy schedule.

I think you are right on target.  Plus look at the schedule and you will see that it looks very easy for UNT to win more games this coming season effectively locking us into Littrell for an additional year.

This is an odd way of saying we're going to have a good season in 2022.

"Middle Tennessee's Rick Stockstill and North Texas' Seth Littrell just missed this list, but they could easily be included if their teams are no-shows."

      Yeah, it's been downright pathetic marketing. Jared should be questioned about this on a public forum, like X. It's not even a team thing anymore. This PROGRAM deserves 5k a night. It doesn't matter if they're playing Denton High. The program has earned my respect. I love everything they do, the pace they play, the players they're able to nab. We're basically running the double flex in basketball and it's working and has been working for almost a decade. As for your idea, I like it. Also, students and old folks love free stuff. Buy 5K worth of $400 TV's and give one away every home game via drawing. And for the love of me, will SOMEONE get the greeks actually interested in UNT athletics?!?! Students like free tuition. A diehard would love to 'cup a coffee with coach' A diehard would like 'lunch with a player' The problem as I have observed over the years will always be the problem. To my knowledge, there is not a good % of UNT people working for UNT. Get UNT people back to UNT. And UNT might be the best version of itself. Until then, we are a revolving door for people trying to stepping stone us.

      Another little tidbit: Starting July 1, 2025, schools will be allowed to directly pay players, the infancy of collegiate revenue sharing. Therefore, Jared Mosley will have no barrier to hide behind about doing a piss poor job of funding UNT's NIL initiatives. However, given how little he has done or how no facilities have been built, etc, I don't expect much. Truly, I expect nothing more than what we are and have been doing. Someone stated, sort of conspiracy based, that something deep in its core must be/has to be holding UNT back from being what UNT can be. Forgot who sort of threw that out there, but maybe that guy was onto something. Needless to say, we suck. Our fans suck. Our administration sucks. Our school, gulp, sucks. The last 7 seasons (not including this probable 20+ win season) have seen us go 154-80. NIT and CBI trophies. NCAA win. Conf reg season champs. Conf Tourney Champs. etc. And we are out here still farting around in our athletic department getting sub 3k attendances for home conference games. It's laughable at this point. We have fans still saying wE aRe NoT a BaSkEtBaLl sChOoL because they so badly want to see UNT football not live in infinite suckitude as it inevitably will. Back on topic... Eric Morris aint it. Nobody can convince me he is better than Seth Littrell.
