For McCasland era this is good other than the CIT run. We are in the JJ or Benford era. This is the typical to above average crowd. Especially prior to students returning.

That would require a coach who brings in local talent and goes to local schools to meet with staff. Benford was really well known in the era and would be at almost every Guyer game he could. Argyle too. Granted none of that turned into winning basketball he was well respected by coaches and players all around the area.

McCasland seems to go all over, get lots of JUCOs and has found guys who can win games. That eventually should turn around attendance, but right now this has been where it’s been for him and the team. 
 

AD also doesn’t help the cause….

Thanks to the students and alumni that do make it to games (just not enough of them), but we should not schedule home games when school is not in session.  It’s hard enough getting students out of the dorms to a game.  Nearly impossible to have them come back to campus for a game. I’ve given up on the local (non-student) Denton population.

He was 4-12 last game, which is really bad considering the quality of shots he takes. Abou, Bell, McBride, and Jones are all going to need to step it up offensively. None of them have been shooting the ball particularly well lately and that can’t happen again today.

Not necessarily, however which player on the team is well known in the DFW area or Texas maybe in general. 
 

Im saying they should invest more in the local area. Shaka Smart showed up to Guyer, Benford would, even seen Roy Williams at Guyer. Spoke during the day to the players. Not only is NC a major program , but came to Denton when Guyer had 3 big name recruits. Even sense larger programs have come to talk during the day. How many kids you think here going to come goop at UNT? Lots of DFW talent there and the pipeline needs to be filled. Benford was an awful coach but I can tell you almost every coach in DFW respected the hell out of him. Even if he couldn’t take the best team we ever and win…

UAB was pretty good last year.  May even be better this year.  Complete team.  Fun game to watch so far.

Alley oop to Bell for his first made shot of conference play. Was 0-10 to start. Hope that gets him going, and hope we see his shots coming more off of assists than him creating on his own.
