Contracts are contracts. Can't get mad about it. But it certainly isn't the UNT football related news I was hoping for today.

Hey Brett, how about you interview Wren and ask him to address the growing fan outrage and apathy due to Littrell continuing to be our football coach? Our Frisco Bowl attendance sucked. Our season attendance was down again (16,669 per game). And I doubt MGSF donations are up. I'd love to read Wren's plan to improve these numbers when a growing number of the fans he needs no longer support Littrell remaining our coach. That would be an article I'd love to read.

This right here Mr. Vito!!!

But that not what today's Journalism does.

reporting pretty standard contract incentives for coaches and ADs right this group has worked itself into peak-lather.

maybe some of you have just never worked on contracts...

1. making a bowl, no matter the result, would've activated an incentive.
2. I'm assuming there are two incentives...A. making a bowl / B. winning a bowl
3. moot, since Seth doesn't win bowl games...so just cause A legally requires payment

all of this would be completely unrelated to whether the AD wants to terminate (and of course, payout/arbitrate any contractually obligated future payments)

now, if you, all emotionally frail and out for blood, want the AD to fire Seth AND not fulfill contracts...well, I would love to see the caliber of replacement hire you think you'll attract.

Oh wow. Mr big time over here. Everyone that follows sports knows what incentives go into a contract, that’s not the issue. The issue is he has been getting paid extra for making a bowl game and then getting blown out every damn time. The fans see this as a hollow incentive. Twice SL has gone to a bowl game with a losing record and he barely made this one and again got worked. So you tell me… is that money well spent my man?

It is in comparison to teams that don’t win enough games to make a bowl game appearance (even if by APR or extenuating circumstances). We were one of those teams every year from 2005 to 2015 except for a single glorious season. From 2016 to 2021, we only missed a bowl appearance in one season. Yes we’ve lost every one, and we should have one this year’s for sure, but it still beats the hell out of being the team whose season ends the Saturday after Thanksgiving every year.

Vito was not reporting the issue, he is reporting the contract incentive.  BV is probably laughing a little inside at how we were so predictably going to react to it.

This entire quoted post could be said directly to Vito, which was CBL's point.
