I'll give you one reason.  This right here.  We have a ton of young talent that matured greatly this season and will come back even better in the fall.  Not to mention injuries to guys like Shorter and Bush that hopefully get healthy in the offseason.

I really really want to see Shorter make it through injury-free and show us what he's got.  Destroy CUSA secondaries.  I think he's over due.  Am I the only one?

Or maybe there's more to this and it's time to put the poor-man's-Megatron hopes to rest.

NT does have a lot of players returning next season (don't we say this every season?).  The loss of Novil and Torrey will hurt.  The QB position is still a major question mark.

The six wins this season came against teams with records of: 3-8, 4-8, 3-9, 7-5, 1-11, 12-1.

The six losses were to teams with records of: 8-4, 8-4, 3-9, 6-6, 7-5, 7-5.

Don't disagree with Vito's points.

However, the greatest reason that NT will be better next year is the quarterback position.

I don't care if it is Aune, or other current QB's or a newcomer.

I don't see how that QB play is not significantly improved.

Am I missing something?

Ha!  I said it in reference to the reasons UNT should be better next year.  Vito did not mention Addaway. I think the Addaway/Torrey two headed monster would have been huge this year.

The young talent showed they are capable of holding their own, but adding Addaway to this backfield?  Next year’s competition is in trouble….
