Going to grade school in El Paso, they had this annual tradition of pitting some teachers vs. the senior athletes in a basketball game.  They might have mixed up the rosters so that it would be at least somewhat competitive.  They also invited all the feeder school kids to watch.  Two things that were really cool:

1) They always brought in one or two current Miner players to join the fun.  I think they played point for each side?
2) Another Miner would sit court-side with the microphone and provide color/PxP.

It was incredible.  The Miner on the court would inevitably get a breakaway, or some kind of setup that provided a highlight-worthy play.  The gym would go bananas.

This is how I got to see Anthony Davis play.

This was my get-our-athletes-engaged-with-local-kids post.  Kudos to Perry and Co. for this.
