UMass is 6-4 and as such has been bouncing between winning and losing nearly every other game.  They do have a couple of nice Ws mixed in there.  Should be a nice contest for us in the OOC.

I checked Flosports earlier today, and they didn't even have the game listed...May have changed since then...but also looked like subscription only website...

The UMass Minutemen and the North Texas Mean Green will square off in the Basketball Hall of Fame Classic on Saturday afternoon at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas. The Minutemen are 6-4 and are coming off an 82-76 road loss against the Northeastern Huskies on Tuesday. The North Texas Mean Green are 4-3 and are riding a two-game winning streak after defeating the LSU Shreveport Pilots 73-35 at home on Saturday.

These two programs are expected to have a very close game against one another so it should be interesting. Let’s take a deeper dive into the matchup to determine where we should be leaning here.

Guard Up

The UMass Minutemen have been depending on the play of junior guard Noah Fernandesas he is playing 33 minutes and averaging 17.2 points, 3.1 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and 1.6 steals per game. He is shooting very well for himself thus far as he is shooting 49.1 percent from the floor, 40 percent from beyond the arc, and 82.9 percent from the charity stripe. In his last game against Northeastern, he played 36 minutes and finished 24 points, four rebounds, seven assists, and three steals.

The defense of the UMass Minutemen have been struggling to begin the year as they are allowing 79.7 points per game. In their previous game against the Northeastern Huskies, they gave up 82 points on 28-of-50 (56 percent) overall, 9-of-17 (52.9 percent) from distance, and 23 trips to the charity stripe.

I hope the new conference does a better job with tv availability !

It will but honesty most of our games are on espn 3 or espn plus. It hasn’t been to awful, but this one is weird… good mistral site matchup in a “tournament”… would think it would be on espn plus.

Arena is beautiful. Turnout not so much. Maybe 100 NT fans 10 min before tip. I expected a lot more. Pretty sad turnout

Sad to say, I didn't really anticipate more.

Team hasn’t really shown anything spectacular. Don’t hear about them at local things or any high school or other sporting events. Bad recruiting and PR after a huge season.

AD needs to up its game. Literally talked with a guy yesterday who didn’t even know Jalen Guyton went to UNT or left early for the NFL. Becuase AD doesn’t tout that success. Maybe too busy chasing money.
