There is no way that the Talons can be 95.  Back in the 30s and 40s there was a local social fraternity that was called the Talons but it has no relation to the current spirit group.  There was a spirit group in the 40s and 50s that was known as the Rally Club and I believe that the current Talons evolved from that somewhere around 1958 or 1959.

I looked for a history that explains the 1926 origin, but couldn't find one. I found another North Texan article that appears to agree with you that today's Talons had nothing to do with the 1920s social club and originated in the 1950s:
