I’m not excited about his completion percentage against FCS competition. I’d like to see them closer to Zappe’s if we are bringing in a FCS transfer. This guy doesn’t seem to be measurably better than Aune and most of our fanbase can’t stand him. We should strive for better if a scholarship is involved. If he is walking on, good, we need scout team quarterbacks.

Yeah, the more I research the less impressed I am. I like that he is a dual threat QB with some good rushing numbers but looks like he got benched early this past season for someone only marginally better than him, stats wise. Completion percentage isn't great but had a really good TD to interception ratio during his best stat season.

So with someone like this it seems the focus will continue to be on the run game. At some point soon will this impact the quality of the receivers we are able to sign?

Everyone looking for the next Zappe or Mordecai from the portal...     Leaving some really nice JUCO players twiddling their thumbs...

Hope the coaches hit the JUCOs hard!

Take, for instance, General Booty (Excellent bloodlines & nephew of EDIT: former NT coach John David Booty):

Won't matter if we don't have a QB coach that's worth a damn.

3 years of absolutely horrid QB coaching. Mason Fine is the greatest QB in UNT history, but the impact GH had on our QB room cannot be stated enough.

It's been all downhill since the day he left.

Absolutely.   Whatever the HC situation is next season, we need someone on staff that can coach-up QBs.   As far as I'm concerned, the best QB coach we have currently is a GA.

You are thinking of John David Baker who left for USC with Graham Harrell. https://olemisssports.com/sports/football/roster/coaches/john-david-baker/722
John David Booty was a quarterback at USC for Pete Carroll and probably couldn’t find Denton on a map.

Not sold on the kid from Iowa.  Seems like a reach.

If we are after a QB, I would go after Hiers and Kevin Henry-Jennings out of South Oak Cliff.

Wonder how many qb's we loose, I could easily see 2 and maybe 3. This guy could be on the charts because he is available now, and hope another transfer or Juco falls into our lap later. I liked the Ark State kid if possible.
