Edging closer – North Texas is creeping towards bowl eligibility with two games remaining in the regular season. The Mean Green were 1-6 before their three-game winning streak. That continued with a 20-17 win over UTEP. North Texas should reach five wins with FIU up next on the schedule. A season-ending clash with UTSA could be a game that determines the future of North Texas football. A win would put the team at 6-6 and on a five-game winning streak to close the year. A loss might result in the end of the Seth Littrell era.

I want to ruin UTSA's perfect season, but I also want fundamental New Denton 2.0 change in the program.  A coach already in the UNT machine for a full season prior to AAC conference play HAS to be better positioned for success than one walking into the Denton UNT Malaise Machine and AAC conference play at the same time.
