I just picked mine up at the EB games in Denton, they now have only one left for GameCube.  The problem is...I have to wait 8 hours until I get home to play it.  sad.gif

Okay, so we're called the Mean Green on the screen but the announcers still call us the Eagles?  What's up with that?

I don't understand this. In March Madness '04, Brad Nessler refers to us as the Mean Green. He does the commentary on NCAA '05 and refers to us as the Eagles??!! Somebody at EA's football gaming Dept. got really lazy. Either that or they were too lazy to pay Corso & Herbstreit money to come in and record them saying "Mean Green".

Game play is great, beat TX and Colorado, then simmeed the rest, went 10-1, lost to a 10-1 MTSU who went to NO and lost to UAB, I got Sun Bowl invite and lost to Oregon st. (simmed).

Negative for PS2 it takes forever to load and save dynasty and removing players.

UGHHH!!!!

But overall it is great

I played my first game against the CPU today and it was too easy, so I moved up to All-American. I had Wake Forest at Notre Dame (to see how tough it is to win on the road). I lost 10-7 and was lined up to kick the tying field as time expired, but I had an offensive lineman jump early and time ran out on me. The only reason the game did not go into OT was it being on the road, and one of my lineman got rattled and jumped. My controller was shaking like a French soldier, Notre Dame's stadium was rocking. I think home field advantage is a very realistic touch and it really shows up when you play on AA or Heisman level. Heisman was a little too tough for me now, maybe the whole time though.

Recruiting is also much more realistic. You don't have as many points, there aren't as many highly rated recruits and they are harder to get. My first year of recruiting I only got 3 players, where last year you could take just about any team and sign 20 easy. Glad they fixed that, much bigger challenge now.

this game is much more realistic. all the way down to joel n. fighting during practice (he's on the team, but way low on the depth charts).

and hey, doesn't scrappy have a tail? and why are we called "the home team" as we leave the tunnel to the field?

I'm seriously considering the Xbox version since it has the online option despite the fact I only have 2 controllers (as of right now). Maybe I'll run down to the EM Games in Ridgmar Mall in FW after I get paid this week (and all the bills are paid).

Just played my second game over XBOX Live... so far im 1-1. I lost to Marshall 21-7, kinda embarrasing. Then I went on to play another guy who used Iowa and won 21-16 (had a greatest game of 568.) There will defintely be a lot of sleepless nights coming... XBOX Live is so fun, Tomorrow I plan on playing against someone who is LSU or OU and see how well I hold up <_<

In single-player today on AA I played against TCU and lost 13-10... My biggest problem is interceptions, I throw atleast 2 or 3 a game and they are killing me!

Its so funny to hear how people react over XBOX Live, some get so pissed and cuss every other word.... just adds to the fun when ya put the Mean Green Hammer down on 'em mad.gif

I ran a (non-NT) dyansty for a few years simming all the games to get a feel for recruiting and the new discipline feature stuff, and NT seems to become a monster just like last year. They had the #15 and #6 recruiting classes and lost 2 games in two years. Mix an easy schedule with recruiting in Texas, and youve got a powerhouse on NCAA 2005.

What's some good signs yall have made? For a passing TD (assuming I'm controlling NT) my sign says "Hell just froze over".

Funny simmed the second season with UNT, and my starting QB (Hall is gone), got suspended for the Full-Season b/c of forging checks, of course right before playing #1 LSU.

Went 10-3, lost to Utah St, LSU, and Air Force in Music City Bowl.

A couple things I've noticed:

On the GC version, I don't think they ever call us the Eagles. They just say "North Texas" and "the home team." Cool enough I guess.

I can't get the signs I've created to show up when playing Exhibition...do they only show up in a dynasty? Anyone else having this problem? I made sure to play under the same profile I created the signs under.

Otherwise, freakin awesome...I was up until 3 a.m. ph34r.gif

I went undefeated in my second season with NT and finished #8 in the nation. I was then put on probation for 10 less scholarships for 2 years and was invited to the Big 12 to replace Texas Tech. I'm not sure why I was put on probation because whenever someone did something wrong I suspended them for what was shown. Should be interesting to see how much losing those scholarships hurts in the Big 12.

Just played my first game on Xbox Live. Beat a guy who was using Michigan by 28-7 before he pulled the plug. mad.gif

You can finish out the game against the computer, tho, and it'll count in your online stats. Pretty good idea. biggrin.gif

Were you thrashin' him with NT? If so ... laugh.gif

I do agree, if you bail on an online game, it should caount in your online stats.

Hey Gak, what's your Xbox screen name? Mine is ITEagle03 on Xbox Live. I couldn't connect this afternoon (and still need to learn the controller setup for Xbox), but I want to try to hookup with some Mean Green faithful for some gridlock madness.

Yeah, I was running right through him with Cobbs and throwing over his head to Quinn. Took him down no problem... laugh.gif

My XBL name is exactly the same as my GMG name. See ya online.

I have lost two in a row on All-American. That never happend last year. It is a lot more difficult to move the ball, and I like that, it is much more true to life. I still brought down the defense sliders for CPU and human because it was a little too tough. I also haven't found a bread & butter play that is 3 or 4 yards guaranteed like the last few years, which is good.

My recievers were dropping way too many passes that hit them in the hands, so I moved up catching a couple of notches and that seems to have worked pretty well.

I won my first two games on All American pretty easily. I beat a$m 20-0 at Kyle field which is the #2 hardest place to play in year 3 of my dynasty. NT was rated B and a$m was B+, plus I was starting about 8 freshmen. Then I beat Missouri at Fouts 21-7 with both teams being a B. But Jamario Thomas got hurt early in the second half of that game for 3 weeks so that hurt.

Has anyone had a non-starter get in trouble and need to be suspended? So far I've only had starters get in trouble, and usually it is my best players. I've yet to have a 3rd string lineman or the like get in trouble, which I would like to happen so I could punish them severely and get in good with the NCAA.

Does it seem to anyone else that the game on all levels is easier this year? I just beat UT in the third year of my dynasty with them being B+ OVR(B+ OFF, A- DEF), and me being B OVR(both OFF and DEF B ) by a score of 10-0 while holding them to 25 total yards. This was also with my starting QB suspended so I was starting a 62 rated QB. I didn't dominate on offense, but the comp couldn't do anything on offense.

Yeah, I had to lower the defensive sliders a little bit for both CPU and human. Both defenses were just too dominate. It opened up the game a little more, the scoring is about right now and there are more big plays.

maybe I am the weirdo but this game seemes harder to move the ball with than previous versions. they seem really sold on the option this year though.

Well I suck at the game so I always played JV, but bumped upto Varsity last night against UT, and it is tough to run and just plain move the ball against tough defenses. I finally wore down the UT line and moved the ball better late in the game, but the new features and the rocking stadiums makes the game so much fun.

I went undefeated in year 3 of my dynasty and won the national championship with NT. I beat Ohio State in the championship game 17-0, and they were an A- while I was a B. My starting QB was hurt so I was starting the 62 rated guy again. I guess I'm going to have to move up to Heisman, or adjust the sliders some.
