Your Preference - Background of a new HC

I know it depends on the person, but in general what would your preference be for the background?

"Rising Coordinator" is maybe a bit specific - I'd like a very talented Coordinator who has an established career as a coordinator, or associate head coach experience. Someone who is getting groomed to be a head coach. I'm sure our leadership could sift through candidates to see if they have what Littrell was missing.

 A coach who’s name is easily recognized in living rooms and high school locker rooms.  A name we don’t have to explain to anyone.  Not forever but until we are ranked within the top 25.

But remember that OR% and DR% is a much better metric than the flat rebound total.

I put 'other' because current HC who has won is not specific enough. We need one who is winning this season and has been doing so in the immediate preceding seasons.

This is tough.  Because there are qualified dudes at all of those levels.

I'm not too interested in the FCS HC moving up.   Not sure who NT could pull from the current winning G5 ranks.   Maybe a guy like Skip Holtz, but even he's struggling this season.

I think it boils down to which "rising coordinator" we're talking about, VS which "rebounding" we're talking about.
If that "rebounding" guy were to have done something great at their previous G5 spot, only to be middling at an impatient P5, I'd want to look closer at him (like a Scott Frost-type) than the "rising coordinator".

I suppose Graham wouldn't technically fall under the "rebound" guys since he's already rebounded at Hawaii.  He would be under the "Current HC - G5" category.

I'm not so sure about Herman.   Heckuva coach, but he may have burned too many bridges with TXHSFB coaches.   He'd really need to surround himself with good recruiters.
