Bean is good. KU doesn't have any weapons for him so he has to do everything by himself

Bean is not good. Go look at how other games.. outside of Duke, he’s been about as good as he was here. And predictably, without Darden, TDs are way down.

Bean is not particularly good. But still clearly better than anything NT has this year.

Kansas has maybe even less help for him than NT has for its QBs.... and Beans passer rating for the season is still 20 points higher than Aunes, and that is before looking at who is the better runner. For the season his completion ratio is 5% higher, his yards/attempt are higher, his yards/completion are higher, his TD/INT ratio is better. Its simply across the board on fairly similar numbers of attempts/game. I dare say, that if Aunes passer rating were 20 points better, NT might have won the liberty game and maybe been at least in striking distance on a few others. Add to that, that Aune has gotten most of the positives on his rating in garbage time and this becomes very clear.

Bean couldn't fully adapt to Littrell, which is why he is an ok rather than a great QB, a great QB would have managed to adapt (see also Fine, Mason). But Littrell and his OCs also failed to adapt to Bean and help him, which is an important derrogative on his coaching capacity. You can also see the same kind of stubborn failure to adapt in other situations, fourth and short comes to mind particularly.

“Good” does not equal “would be the best UNT has”. That’s an extremely low bar.
