Wren already has baseball on his radar.

Unfortunately, it's way down the list after the Athletic Center upgrade and a new basketball arena.

Not a popular opinion but the idea we need a new arena is so incredibly misguided and a waste of time and resources.

I like the super pit, but I’ve seen some renderings on the new arena & it can’t be built soon enough.  It’s going to be beautiful and sit right on the top of the hill where the old Raddison was.

I think a huge driver in it was that the Athletics dept doesn’t have sole possession of it, and if the University ever schedules something in there, it’s not available to the teams, which makes scheduling harder.

Yet somehow they’ve managed to make scheduling work for the last 50 years with what? One hiccup where they played a random game at the Snake Pit. The basketball arena NEEDS to remain on the main side of campus. As good as our facilities are it stinks they are on the other side of the highway. I wish the new football stadium was on the old Fouts site as well.

The new arena will have luxury boxes that will be sold to corporate sponsors and major donors to generate additional income. Similar to what Apogee has done. That's the way it is now. I love the Super Pit but it is old and outdated. The reduced seating will make for a better game atmosphere and hopefully a home court advantage.

It's not a requirement for the league.  We don't have it and it hasn't seemed to be an issue.

I hope y'all start one up, and we do too.    Look at a dinky little school like DBU doing what they're doing because SMU & UNT aren't sponsoring teams.   TCU constantly ranked too...   I know both of us could get in on that.

From what we see, you may be right, but there may be some missed scheduling opportunities at home because the University had something booked in there beforehand.    Who knows what kind of teams we could have brought in over the years, but couldn't because there was a Robotics competition, or somesuch, on the date they could come?
