Excerpt:

It is time for a change at North Texas: Head coach Seth Littrell won nine games in his second and third season in Denton. Since the of the 2018 season, Littrell has won nine of 28 games North Texas has played in. The program isn’t the same without Mason Fine at quarterback and the roster isn’t talented enough to expect a turnaround in 2022. The offense, which is supposed to be Littrell’s forte, struggles to reach 100 yards passing routinely. The only difference-maker on the offensive side of the ball is running back Deandre Torrey. North Texas trailed Marshall 42-7 at home on Friday night in a new low point in his six-year tenure.

Good points - A question for the recruiting experts - How is it we have recruited better and better yet our talent goes down? Starting to think a big portion of the ratings/stars given are maybe a little too heavy weighed on nicely edited videos. Need a coach and staff who can recruit talent that translates to college ball and not players who might have peaked in HS

I am certainly far from an expert on the topic.  But I do know that when they recruit, they aren't just watching edited videos.  Those guys are out all over the state on Friday nights watching players play.

It would be interesting to know. I would think with the massive amount of games the "in-person" reviews are probably focused more towards 4/5 star recruits. Hopefully someone has a little more insight.

I dont think the so called football experts really understand how to rate a schools recruiting at the tier level that UNT plays.  I also think its safe to say that every school that has beat UNT this season has out recruited them the last couple seasons.

I am far from a recruiting expert, but I don't think our talent has gone down.  I don't think our improved talent is being developed properly.  We have good talent on this team.

Again, how do you explain the sudden turnaround at UTSA, Arkansas, Ole Miss, etc…?

You people that are saying this are going to be shocked at the turnaround the guys we have on our roster CURRENTLY are capable of if the right guy is hired.

Excellent example… look what SL did with a beaten down squad recruited by Old Man McCarney.
