Just a guess but I think the AAC and SBC sees this push by CUSA as a sign of desperation. The SBC may change their tune if they lose a few key programs to the AAC. If so the SBC will try and poach a few CUSA programs and might be surprisingly successful. The ball is really in the AAC's court.

It absolutely is an act of desperation by the CUSA.

New Southwest Conference

South Division: Southern MISS, Tulane, UL-L, LA TECH, ARK ST, Memphis (if they stay) or UAB/USA

West Division: UNT, SMU, TXST, UTSA, RICE, TULSA

Ship UTEP to the MWC.  Send UL-M to fcs.

So, out of all of this, UTEP gets the move up on everyone else?  Not a chance.

Google " AAC football realignment" for article by "Fansided" which lays out the schools from AAC, CUSA, and SBC and how they would be distributed.

Not gonna tell you how to internet, but I don't understand why you would type all that out instead of just providing the link yourself.

Well, I am 79 and just have not gotten around to mastering the art of just providing links. I know that sounds stupid but hey, what can I say. I still use paper maps , read two paper newspapers a day, love gas powered cars, and the flip phone that my wife hid from me years ago was the best pocket phone I ever had. I grew up in the 50's, went to NTSU in the early 60's, and have been in a music time warp ever sense. Oh well.
