We know about Transfers at SMU and UAB and now La Tech? Some one had mentioned at one point LA fielded all transfer players. We have recruited great HS players the last few years and now this model may be obsolete. You have to win now!

With no control on dollars paid to players for "incidentals," the college game is going semi-pro.

And if we don't keep pace with this new, unfortunate "semi-pro", college model, we will be left behind again.  Back to FCS.

Define "great." The players I have seen on the field the past 3 years are not great. In fact based upon their record they really are not very good. That's not to say that a few don't stand out above the rest , but if our recruits are so good how come they play so bad?

We don’t draft a transfer. That player gets to choose where he wants to play. The better quality transfers just don’t want to play here.
Also some of our better players have opted to go play elsewhere.
Just like many of our coaches…

How does UNT change our “stepping stone” image? It just isn’t win more. We did that and players and coaches still left or tried to leave.

Texas State brought in all transfers last recruiting cycle - not a single HS kid, right?

How's that working out for them?

Good showing vs Baylor. Beat one of UNT's conference mates. Poor showing vs IW. Then got bullied by EMU's physical play. All in all, they have one win like us. Would we go into Waco and only get beat by 9 today? In contrast to that, would we lose to IW? I would probably say no and no. So, to answer your question, it's working out for them about how our approach is working out for us.
