We have great support we have great alumni and with the right leader we could go some very special places.

Even with a very sub par product we still have tons of support at these games and on campus.

It’s just a damn crying shame Seth has squandered this tremendous opportunity at UNT. 😪

We have some great supporters. But we don’t have great support. Our fan support given the number of alumni, not to mention the number of people on this metro area, is nothing short of abysmal. I do agree with you we have missed opportunities to capitalize on and grow the fan base.

In a lot of ways the school actually does have the program is deserves given the less than 1% of alumni or so that bother to contribute.

This x100000.

We belong where we are at. Since we opened Apogee in 2011, we have now gone 51-62. That spans three head coaches and two conferences. We have had 3 winning seasons, 2013, 2017, and 2018, all with 9 wins each. We have made 5 bowl games, winning 1 of them, getting clobbered in 3 of them. We have one division championship to show for all this, in 2017, when we won CUSA West and promptly got obliterated by FAU in the championship game.

We have too many other teams near us that take winning football much more serious than we ever have. Thank God we play in a division with Rice and UTEP, as they are probably the only regional teams we can compete with right now.

Some of us as students saw 4 winning seasons in a row up there in Mean Green Country.  In fact, it was the last time that happened.🥺

NUMBERS MATTER:  Today because of our huge (still growing) enrollment & overall UNT constituency (along with Denton & Denton County) that would IMHO translate to the kind of upsurge at the turnstiles that many on GMG would be in shock over.   (Think what Apogee attendance looked like the night we made geldings out of the Mustangs & then the Joe Greene statue unveiling ceremony game vs LTU).

We are stuck in the perpetual chicken/egg cluster we have always been in. We could win more if we had better support. We would have better support if we could win more. Unfortunately, we are now what we have always been and probably always will be.

At least you didn't mention the 2018 punt return...

I have never seen anything more perfectly stated than this cartoon...only thing missing is seeing a shark swimming around with a SMU Mustang on its dorsal fin...
