I’ve always loved Seth. This was my first season without season tickets since I graduated in 08.  I played it off to myself with the uncertainty of the delta variant… but I’m vaxxed and I don’t have problems going out anywhere… Tonight I admitted to myself that this team has been Mason Fine and three really good receivers away from absolute trash for Seth’s entire tenure.  It’s trash and it’s always been trash… and now there is no Mason to cover it’s sins. The offense has never resembled anything that could be described as “guru” level under him. He doesn’t call the plays. They’ve never run even the least bit interesting of an offense on his tenure.  He lucked into Mason Fine and that benefited no one but him.  It didn’t benefit Mason… He was never given an offensive line or a defense to play with. It didn’t benefit us because it bought him more time to be less than mediocre….  Now that he doesn’t have a transcendent QB it’s painfully clear that no one on either side of the ball has ever improved from being coached by the charismatic Bob Stoops’ Fullback.  Tonight the effort level hit end of the line Wade Phillips Cowboys levels. 
I live a mile away and I’m so glad I wasn’t there.

Yeah that’s been said 100,000 times today, but I really like Seth but clearly he lost the team.

Players are not invested anymore, and it’s sad to see

Need to restart the cycle: Hire a new up and coming offensive minded coach who rides the high of starting a new program into a great QB recruit comit. Seth did it with Mason and it worked. He just never recruited a worthy successor.

Please, no more "up and coming" unless they have FCS/FBS Head coaching experience.

NT has just lost badly to two old experienced head coaches. 

Teams generally don't fire a coach than try to find one with the same background.  

NT despite what some may think, is actually one of the best g5 programs in terms of budget, facilities and potential.  

NT will have a lot of applicants and/or interested coaches when the decision to change is made.

No one thought we landed a great QB with Mason when he committed. We got lucky that he fell into our laps and turned out to be special.

      He could be a really good example of the rich getting richer if his draft stock stays low due to his age. Imagine a team like Dallas, Boston, Denver, or OKC getting him late in the first round and bringing his energy off the bench for the next few years. I'd hate for my team to go against him.

      This could be our Deion Sanders hire or our Trent Dilder hire. Definitely could be a huge hit or a massive miss. If UNT wants a circus, I got my popcorn ready.

      Not a good day for the Big East either. These "ranked" teams losing big just show how unreliable early season rankings are. Wonder if UConn will be ranked after 3 straight loses.

      He’s the HC. Who’s to stop him from making the final decisions? He does it because he can and he’s got free reign. These are just some of the poor HC tactics he’s made. Regarding missing two FGs the last game, one was on the kicker and the other on EM. The second miss was due to the FH team getting out late. Probably coz he was unsure whether to go for it or not. Then he scoots the unit out late. You hate to rush things like that.

      AAC News: New Rice HC, Scott Abell

      I think running the triple option is a genius move by Rice. I’ve always wanted North Texas to do it and believe it will be even more effective in today’s NIL/transfer portal environment. If Rice gets a great triple option QB, he is less likely to be poached by the P4. Why would they need a triple option QB? Running the triple option, Rice can use smaller, more athletic offensive linemen who are easier to acquire and retain as these type of players are also in less demand by the P4. You do need good running backs, but this is the easiest position to acquire and many good running backs would be excited to play in this offense. A triple option offense also shortens a game and can give a “less talented” team a better chance to win by limiting the possessions and opportunities of the other team (See North Texas basketball) Good move by Rice. This differentiates them and I believe it will be successful. Maybe UNT’s next coach can bring the slot-T offense (which is wildly successful right now in Texas high schools) back to major college football?
