Could Big 12 look west and poach Pac-12 schools if conference expansion continues?

Bob Bowlsby made something clear after the Big 12 welcomed BYU, Cincinnati, Houston and UCF to its ranks last week.

The conference might not be done expanding.

“We’re always going to be open to opportunities as they present themselves,” the Big 12 commissioner said. “We’re living in a fast-changing athletic environment ... and as targets of opportunity present themselves or as there are situations that dictate that we change composition, we’ll be prepared to do those things.”

I am impressed that the Big XII did what they’ve done to stay alive and still be considered a power league—at least for now. It has been the best thing that could happen for us, as it gives us a chance to still move up. If the AAC and MWC had absorbed the Big XII school leftovers, our days as a Lower G5 were basically set in cement. They may still be, but at least it’s not officially over.

Look, if for nothing else, we have to get away from CUSA. The league’s leadership has condoned moronic decisions, from thinking Facebook is an acceptable “TV” network to being woke with having the only female commissioner, who is unbelievable terrible. I don’t care if it’s the MWC, AAC, or the SBC…we have got to get other decent teams in the region to do the same thing WITH us.
