USC won't be down for long, and Uncle Phil will make sure Oregon gets back to the top as well.
Pac12 definitely in a valley for the past few years, but they definitely wont stay there.

PAC 12 has Oregon, Washington, USC and UCLA.  Outside of OSU, the remaining teams in the Big 8 don't match up.

The pac12 has been down and is trying to get back to the table. I still think they will try and add teams

BYU makes sense because they bring a massive media fan base to the conference.

 

But is adding a bunch of AAC schools really going to benifit the BIG12?  they are essentially becoming another G5 conference.  Just looking at who will be left in the BIG12, the AAC will be the better conference.

Oregon has been OK thanks to Uncle Phil. Washington is OK, but not special. USC and UCLA are sort of like Texas; everyone hypes them based on past success.

Hey man things can change.  Cincy is like a top 8 team this season and we know Houston has been high up there before too under Hermans.  UCF won a national championship (ok maybe not legitimately but still a good program) and BYU has always had a national profile.  This is not a terrible league in the least.

Once the Big12 supposedly takes Houston, Cincy & UCF from the AAC, you'd have the following:

Houston, TX Tech, TCU, Baylor, OKSt, KSSt, KS, IASt, WVA, Cincy, UCF, & BYU
VS
SMU, Memphis, Navy, USF, Tulane, Tulsa, Temple & East Carolina

Now that it's spelled out, do you still think the AAC would be a better conference than the Big12?

Maybe my memory is wrong, but doesn't Utah State owe us some love for supporting them soon after the Big West went belly-up?  We need all the backing we can get!

Exactly. This is why I think if the B12 adds these teams the Pac12 will take one or two "Left behind" teams. I think TCU will be in play for the Pac12.

The "C" in TCU is going to cause a problem for them when it comes time for the Pac12 to look for additional members.

You are assuming that Kansas, WV, and Iowa stay in the BIG12. All 3 of those schools have been linked to leaving.  Will adding a few G5 schools convince them to stay?  I think they will find better deals in other conferences.

You're probably right, but there ain't much "C" in T. "C." U.  Also, we may be reading too much into the PAC's reluctance to take on BYU, and they brought on a slew of issues that wouldn't be an issue with TCU.

I don't really see the PAC in being interesting in any BXII leftovers, outside of maybe KU.

So who does the AAC add?  App St, UTSA?  Sadly those two seem like locks. UTSA is hot garbage as an actual school, but that didn’t stop Boise St from rocketing up.  I just don’t see schmoo or Tulsa voting for us over them.  Budget-wise Old Dominion continues to outpace all other CUSA/SBC/Mac schools and could potentially argue that their basketball would get better and closer to what it once was with better competition.

Kansas is most-definitely a plus addition to any conference just because they're a basketball blueblood.  They probably would get to take their pick, but would likely end up in the B1G.

Who is interested in IASt?  They're not a very appealing school at all.  Once Campbell gets hired away (which, he eventually will), their football will go right back to the toilet.
Who is interested in WVA?   They originally landed in the Big12 as a last resort because neither the B1G, nor ACC wanted them.   The only way I could see WVA moving is if the SEC continues to expand, takes some ACC schools & the ACC needs to backfill.

I would think OKSt is an attractive piece. 
They're probably the best overall program left in the Big12, but that would be quite a lonely island.  They would  need at least 1 travel partner from the Central Time Zone.

WV wants to be in a big money power conference, the BIG12 is not going to be that the way its looking, why would they want to stay? 

Kansas can go where they want because of basketball, probably go where ever the most money is.

The revenue for the BIG12 will not be the same, or anything close, so whats keeping any of the remaining members in?  Would a school leave a good spot in the AAC for what ever becomes of the BIG12?
