How the Word Is Passed: A Reckoning with the History of Slavery Across America

This book is incredible. Absolutely - cover to cover. It is a book that I will save for my two children to read in a few years. Covers nearly all angles - America's history, Civil War, Memories, Plantations, NYC, Senegal "blacks selling blacks into slavery", it is just so great. Eye opening to me, when I thought I already had my eyes open.

5/5 - highly recommend.

One of the things covered is Seneca Village, which was a mostly African American community that was ultimately razed to create Central Park.

I had no idea. Fascinating stuff.
