Marzilio and Allen (New Transfer) To Play In U.S. Men's Amateur

The incoming sophomore from Argentina will play in the U.S. Amateur beginning Monday at Oakmont Country Club in Pennsylvania after automatically qualifying with his victory in Mexico, where he shot a 70-71-66-64-271 to claim the championship and exemption to the U.S. Amateur.

"This opportunity means a lot to me," Marzilio said. "It shows me I'm going on the right track toward becoming the best amateur I can be and competing against the best will tell me what's good and what's to improve upon in the future."

Fans can follow the stroke play portion of the event on the USGA's website and then catch television coverage of match play beginning Wednesday on the Peacock app and on Golf Channel.

Tough opening round for Marzilio.  He is +9 through 15 holes.

Allen tees off at 1:55pm.  Not sure if that is EST or CST.  I would assume EST.
