It’s the only move they have really. Going to the AAC will not make that conference a power conference. Unfortunately if this merger does happen it all but cements North Texas staying put in CUSA

The Pac 12 could do a lot worse than inviting Tech, TCU, OSU, UH, KSU, and ISU to go west

One media school of thought says the B12 remains at 8 until something else materializes. I think they could all split up & go their separate ways in due time.  It is a self-serving world we live.

From what I have seen it would be more of an alliance to work together. Seems those two conferences are not as high on the way ESPN is trying to control college football. I think the big 10 is also trying to be proactive for fear that one or two top teams might join a mega SEC

The remnants of the Big 12 will get absorbed by the PAC, ACC, and Big 10

I used to think so but now have my doubts, at least in the short term. First, if BIG 12 dissolved they would not get the $150 million buy out from Texas and OU. Second ,if Big 12 dissolved then they would not get the very big bucks ESPN owes them until 2025, with or with out the Horns and Sooners. The best bet is for them to remain a conference for the next 4 years, bank the bucks, and seek some sort of an alliance with the PAC 12 that enhances both conferences  in term of revenues. This might be a merger or not. Regardless ,the remaining BIG 12 members might be best served by a wait and see attitude.

Yeah, I think a scheduling agreement to try and get more eyeballs on both their products is more beneficial to the groups.

Yeah I’m thinking Kansas goes to the BIG 10….everyone else to the PAC….I’m assuming West Virginia goes to the ACC…like they should have way back when
